Staff members of the Ombudsman Office of Azerbaijan, Elvin Hajiyev and Sabuhi Abbasov, participated in an international experience exchange program under the "Internship Program 2026," organized by the Ombudsman Office (Mohtasib) of Punjab in Lahore, Pakistan.
During the program, the Azerbaijani delegation was briefed on the institutional structure and key activity areas of the Punjab Ombudsman. Representatives were introduced to the Complaint Management Information System, the "1050" Helpline for receiving public grievances, as well as the agency’s media strategy, social media campaigns, and public awareness initiatives.
As part of the program, a visit was conducted to the Regional Office Rawalpindi Ombudsman Punjab. There, the Azerbaijani delegates observed the work of the Mobile Van Outreach Campaign functioning under the "Awami Khidmat" (Public Service Program), interacting directly with citizens living in remote areas.
Throughout the visit, the Azerbaijani representatives the presented information about the Azerbaijani Ombudsman’s activities, good practices, and innovative approaches. The Azerbaijani Ombudsman’s activities were commended; an exchange of views and best practices between both institutions was held.
In addition, a comparative analysis of the activities of the Azerbaijani and Punjab Ombudspersons’ Offices was conducted, and useful discussions were conducted in order to enhance the effectiveness of the work of both institutions.
