The Ombudsman Meets with the Executive Director of the OIC IPHRC

The Ombudsman of Azerbaijan, Sabina Aliyeva, has met with a delegation led by Hadi Bin Ali Al-Yami, the Executive Director of the Independent Permanent Human Rights Commission of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC-IPHRC).

During the meeting, Ombudsman Sabina Aliyeva expressed her gratitude to the guest for participating in the International Baku Summit of Ombudspersons. She emphasized that cooperation with international organizations and NHRIs remains one of the priority directions of the ombuds institution's activities, highly praising the fruitful partnership established with the OIC-IPHRC.

The Ombudsman positively assessed the presentation to the international community of the Commission’s report on the results of the fact-finding mission conducted to assess the human rights and humanitarian situation in the liberated territories following the Second Karabakh War.

The parties also underscored the critical importance of international solidarity and joint efforts in combating racism, discrimination, intolerance, double standards, and Islamophobia worldwide.

In his turn, His Excellency, Hadi Bin Ali Al-Yami expressed his gratitude for the warm reception and highly apprciated the organization of the international summit. He noted that the summit provided an important platform for discussing pressing human rights protection issues and facilitated a highly beneficial exchange of experiences.

The sides also exchanged views on prospects for future cooperation in the field of human rights promotion and protection.
