State Migration Service employees organized a training on the protection of child rights

During Human Rights Month, declared by the Ombudsman, Sabina Aliyeva, a training was organized for the employees of the State Migration Service. The training focused on the protection of children’s rights. 

The purpose of the training was to increase capacity-building of persons working in the migration field on how to protect children’s rights and strenghthen the awareness of applicable national and international standards in the relevant field. 

The senior employees of the institution, Nigar Aghayeva və Azer İsali informed about the role of children’s rights, Ombusman’s mandate and activities, national preventive and indpendent monitoring mechanisms, initiatives to advance the legislation, and educational events rganized for various target groups.  

Furthermore, the trainees were shown presentations about the core international legal documents in the field of protection of children’s rights, including CRC, its optional protocols, national legal norms protecting the rights of children, and a newly adopted this year Law of the Republic of Azerbaijan “On child rights.”  

During the interactive discussions, participants’ questions were answered, and an exchange of views took place on the topic.
