The representative of the Ombudsman delivered a lecture regarding the human rights protection mechanisms at the Police Academy under the Ministry of Interior Affairs

Mugalib Mahmudov, Head of the Legal Education Unit at the Ombudsman Institution ran an interactive lecture on the human rights protection mechanisms at the Police Academy under the Ministry of Interior Affairs.

The lecturer outlined the complaint handling procedure; the monitoring and visits; state authorities, municipalities, and other entities; as well as activities to address human rights violations committed by their officials, and preventive mechanisms. The listeners were also informed about the activities of the Ombudsman in the field of legal education.

M. Mahmudov provided information about functions implemented to protect the rights of children and persons with disabilities, to ensure equality and to prohibit discrimination under the independent monitoring mechanism.
