Winners of the Journalism Writing Competition Awarded

The winners of the traditional Journalism Writing Contest titled “The Constitution and Sovereignty through the Eyes of the Media,” announced by the Azerbaijani Ombudsman, Sabina Aliyeva, on the occasion of December 10 – International Human Rights Day, have been awarded.

To ensure the fair and professional evaluation of the submitted journalistic writings (including checks for plagiarism and assessment of the authors’ knowledge of the topic), the writings were reviewed by experts from the Ombudsman Office and the Press Council.

Thus, in the competition the following journalists were awarded: 

1st place- Shafiga Nazimgizi, correspondent of the Report Information Agency; 

2nd place - Hikmet Ahmadov, editor of the Political and Official News Department of the Azerbaijan State News Agency (AZERTAC), and Yagut Aslanova, correspondent of the Iki Sahil newspaper; 

3rd place - Ilkin Najafzade, correspondent of the Azvision.az website, and Zarina Orucaliyeva, correspondent of the Minval.az website.

Subut Mehdiyev, head of the AZIA.az blog, and Goychak Mahmudlu, correspondent of the Azerbaijan State 

News Agency (AZERTAC), received incentive awards.
