The Ombudsman’s Office organized a training on "Protection of the Right to Access Information" for officials and staff of the DOST Agency under the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of the Population. The organization of such training was initiated by the Ombudsperson.
Lamiya Zeynalova, the head of the department on the protection of the right to information, and employees of the department made speeches during the training. The trainers shared knowledge on the understanding of the right to information in the modern era and the requirements of national legislation, the Ombudsman’s activities in the relevant field, as well as responsibilities for all information holders.
Aside from this, the trainees were also informed about the implementation mechanisms of the Law on Access to Information, the rules on how to respond to information requests, and circumstances giving rise to liability.
During a question-and-answer session and open discussion, participants asked experience-based questions. The Ombudsman's Office representatives answered those questions giving explanations and practical recommendations.
At the end, educational printed materials, prepared on the initiative of the Ombudsperson, were presented to the trainees.
