An event was held under the organization of the Ombudsman at the 11th Baku International Book Fair

The Ombudsperson of Azerbaijan organized an event titled “Directions of the Activities of the Ombudsperson: New Human Rights Approaches and Perspectives” within the 11th Baku International Book Fair, held at the Baku Expo Center.

It was highlighted at the event that from the very beginning, the ombuds institution of Azerbaijan has paid special attention to public legal literacy activities as well as to the development of legal science. It was also noted that the institution regularly generated educational books, leaflets, and brochures in various languages and organized public awareness events aimed at increasing legal literacy.

Furthermore, detailed information was provided at the event about the Ombudsperson’s activities in the protection of human rights and freedoms. It was noted that the Ombudsperson carries out broad activities in ensuring the right to information and the right to equality and the protection of the rights of children and PWDs, etc.

During the event, videos and educational printed materials initiated by the Ombudsperson were also exhibited.

This year, there are 279 publications by the ombuds institution in Azerbaijani, Russian, English, Ukrainian, and French exhibited in the Fair.
