As part of the “Year of the Constitution and Sovereignty,” the Ombudsman’s regional offices held a series of events

To mark State Sovereignty Day on 20 September, the Ombudsman’s North, Northwest, West, and South Regional Centers organized legal awareness events attended by local executive and self-governing government officials and city residents.

At the events, participants were informed about the Presidential Decree of September 19, 2024, declaring this day, the challenges Azerbaijan has faced at various times of history in safeguarding its sovereignty, the anti-terror operations of September 2023, and the restoration of territorial integrity through the liberation of long-occupied ancestral lands.

The participants also learned about the Ombudsman’s efforts to protect the rights of martyr families and war veterans, along with the human rights initiatives carried out under the Ombudsman’s Action Plan for the “Year of the Constitution and Sovereignty” being observed this year.
