The North-West Regional Center of the Human Rights Commissioner (Ombudsman) of the Republic of Azerbaijan, in connection with the "Year of the Constitution and Sovereignty", held further legal awareness events at the Sheki ASAN Service Center, in the villages of Bash Kaldak of the Sheki district and Daymadara of the Oghuz district, with the participation of employees of local executive and local self-government bodies, residents, and ASAN volunteers.
The head of the North-West Regional Center, Parviz Mammadov, spoke at the events and drew attention to the declaration of 2025 as the "Year of the Constitution and Sovereignty" in the Republic of Azerbaijan by the Decree of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan dated December 28, 2024.
Also, he gave detailed information about basic human rights and freedoms and the mechanisms for the protection of those rights defined by the Constitution of the Republic of Azerbaijan, especially about the activities of the Ombudsman institution as an independent human rights protection mechanism, as well as about the latest additions and changes made to the Constitutional Law on the Ombudsman.
At the end, discussions were held on the topic, and the questions of the participants were answered in detail.
