An awarding ceremony was held for a group of young people who completed their volunteer activities at the Ombudsman's Office

Aydın Safikhanli, head of the Office of the Commissioner for Human Rights (Ombudsman) of the Republic of Azerbaijan, met with a group of young people who completed their volunteer activities at the institution.

During the meeting, A. Safikhanli gave extensive information about the volunteering program, which was successfully organized in the Ombudsman's office and actively involved young people, at the initiative of Sabina Aliyeva, the Commissioner for Human Rights (Ombudsman) of the Republic of Azerbaijan.

He spoke about the opportunities created for young people in our country, state programs and strategies that contribute to the improvement of their knowledge and skills. He said that it is commendable that the graduates of the volunteering program organized in the institution were admitted to the master's level of higher education institutions of local and foreign countries, and successfully passed the recruitment competitions of state and private institutions.

The head of the office was also interested in what the volunteers learned as a result of their experience at the institution, and at the same time, he spoke about the international training they were sent on the initiative of the Ombudsman. Later, the opinions of young people were heard and recommendations were given to them regarding their future activities. 

In the end, in accordance with the Law of the Republic of Azerbaijan "On Voluntary Activities", certificates for active participation in the volunteer program for the protection of human rights and freedoms were presented by the Ombudsman to young people who successfully completed their contractual obligations as volunteers.

It should be noted that within the framework of the volunteering program, the volunteers educated at the Academy of Public Administration under the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Baku State University, ADA University, Azerbaijan University of Languages, Azerbaijan State Pedagogical University, Azerbaijan State University of Culture and Arts and Western Caspian University have experienced in various structural units of the institution and got to know closely the activity of the Ombudsman in the field of protection and promotion of human rights.
