The next event on “Mental Health and Human Rights” was held

The West Regional Center of the Human Rights Commissioner of Azerbaijan organized a legal educational event on “Mental Health and Human Rights” at the Ganja Psychiatric Hospital for the staff of the medical facility.

The Head of the Regional Center, Sabuhi Abbasov, spoke at the event about the Ombudsman’s activities to ensure the rights and freedoms of patients of the psychiatric clinics, also emphasizing that a working group on “Mental Health and Human Rights” was created under the Ombudsman.

Furthermore, he shed light on the activities carried out within the NPM mandate, the last amendments made to the Constitutional Law on the Ombudsman, and the provisions of the Law “On Psychiatric Assistance” of the Republic of Azerbaijan. The questions of the attendees were answered.
