Head of Guba Regional Center delivered speech at seminar-consultation on labor rights

The head of the Guba Regional Center of the Commissioner for Human Rights Bahruz Afandiyev participated at the regional seminar-consultation on the topic of “Labor norms; standards,  rules and provisions for payment of labor” organized by the State Labor Inspection under the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of Population.

Authorized representatives of the Ministry delivered speeches about the fundamental reforms implemented in the country covering all the economic directions, as well as directed towards provision of employment and strengthening the social protection of the population.  These reforms carried out under the leadership of the President Ilham Aliyev are directed towards decreasing the effect of the global crisis, mobilizing the management and ensuring transparency environment.

During his speech the head of the Guba Regional Center mentioned that labor rights of persons are among priority directions in the activity of the Commissioner. In order to raise the quality and effectiveness of such kind of activities, Business and Human Rights Working Group of the Ombudsman successfully operates. More than 25 members from the state bodies or civil society represented in this group and as a result of its activity a number of drafted proposals were submitted to the relevant bodies, consequences were monitored, certain state bodies, also the public were notified about the summarized joint proposals, some of them were considered in the amendments to the normative-legal acts or newly adopted state programs.
